After settling into Litchfield after spending Covid in Falls Village, the homeowners knew it was time to turn their house into a reflection of who they are. They connected with Casa Marcelo to bring out the potential of their new home. The result? A stunning, colorful home bursting with personality and warmth.

Though rooted in a classic New England aesthetic, this design offers a fresh and modern twist on country motifs, perfectly capturing the family’s vibrant spirit. To help achieve this, in the Living Room, we kept the wall paint as is, but painted all of the trim in the space and the fireplace mantle to offer a playful pop. We used a sunny and nature driven motif for our color palette. Blues, greens, yellows, and bumblebee motif on the curtains plus floral motifs throughout, uplifted this space in particular. We incorporated a Dunes + Duchess étagère in their “Don’t be Churlish” lacquer.

However, the biggest transformation was the foyer, where our client took the plunge and went with our suggestion of adding wallpaper to make an impact. The wallpaper, which is derived from watercolor hand-drawn art brings a whimsical tone to an otherwise traditional tartan pattern. We added a stair runner and painted an existing chest that brought out the mauve tines from the wallpaper.

Finally, we enhanced Sunroom by converting it into Den with the possibility of a work-from-home desk. We painted the walls and window sashes + mullions a mint green, added a cozy L-shape sectional and repeating the floral and colorful motifs throughout the rest of the design.
