Abigail Marcelo Horace
Abigail is the founder and principal designer of Casa Marcelo. With over a decade of experience in high-end residential design in New York City, Abigail launched Casa Marcelo in 2020 to build a wellness-driven design practice rooted in transparency, creativity, and integrity. After 4 years of business in 2024, Abigail was a Frederic Magazine “IT List” Award recipient, an award which recognizes up and coming, Interior Design talent, globally.
Abigail holds a BFA in Interior Design from the New York Institute of Technology. Her approach is deeply client-centered. She thrives on understanding each homeowner’s unique needs and envisioning a property's full potential from the start. Known for creating elevated yet livable interiors, she excels at combining thoughtful sourcing with a clear design vision.
Drawing inspiration from nature, travel, historical architecture, and her family, Abigail leads Casa Marcelo with the belief that a healthy home begins with a healthy process—for both the client and the team. A wife and mother of two young sons, she values work-life harmony and is committed to fostering a supportive, communicative, and inclusive studio culture.
HYALITE BUILDERS, OWNER
Matt Soleau
Matt Soleau leads Hyalite Builders, a premier construction management and general contracting firm serving the Hudson Valley, Catskills, and Litchfield Hills. With a background in Physics and Mechanical Engineering and over 20 years of industry experience, he applies a complete building-science approach to both new construction and renovations—integrating high-performance methodologies and Passive House principles. His focus on energy performance, interior air quality, and occupant comfort ensures every project achieves precision, resilience, and long-term value.
Equally committed to the client experience, Matt combines technical rigor with clear communication and attentive service. From world-class museums and Michelin-starred restaurants in New York City to bespoke residences in the Hudson Valley and Berkshires, he ensures that Hyalite projects are delivered with the highest quality while providing clients with a process that is transparent, collaborative, and rewarding from start to finish.
ARCHITECT, AIA
Charles Matz
Master planner and architect for fine art, exhibition spaces, and pavilions at the Musée du Louvre and Château de Versailles, as well as institutional projects at Princeton University. Over 15 years, Mr. Matz led over 20 major renovations and new works, including athletic facilities, lecture halls, laboratories, and master planning efforts at Princeton, Williams College, and CUNY.
Internationally, he has collaborated with clients like The New York Stock Exchange, SONY, Viacom, Disney, and J. Walter Thompson, delivering over 150 broadcast, live stage, and media projects. His multidisciplinary expertise extends to branding, manufacturing, and hospitality design, including a renewal strategy for the Princeton and Columbia Clubs in New York.
Mr. Matz was raised in Venice Italy and New York City and attended university in New York, London, and Oxford.
JUNIOR DESIGNER + PROJECT MANAGER
Christie Florio
Christie Florio is a Junior Designer and Project Manager at Casa Marcelo with a dual background in Graphic Design and Interior Design. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Western Connecticut State University and an Associate’s degree from Norwalk Community College.
Christie plays a key role in both design and operations—contributing to concept boards, specifications, color palettes, and layouts, while also managing project logistics to keep timelines on track and clients well-supported. In her free time, she enjoys treasure hunting at thrift stores, spending quality time with friends and family and embracing spontaneous adventures.

FINANCIAL OPERATIONS MANAGER
Erin Onsager
Erin Onsager leads financial operations at Casa Marcelo, where she is streamlining systems and ensuring accurate reporting to support the firm’s creative work. She’s also the founder of Simply Spreadsheets, a consulting firm helping small businesses with budgeting, forecasting, and financial clarity.
A Connecticut native and University of Chicago economics graduate, Erin brings over 20 years of experience in finance—including roles in lending, asset management, private equity, and as a university CFO. She’s passionate about real estate investing and enjoys mentoring others in building financial confidence. When she’s not deep in a spreadsheet, Erin enjoys cooking, hosting dinner parties, traveling, and camping with her dog.
