Modern Farmhouse Kitchen

Scope: Kitchen Renovation

Location: New Jersey

We renovated this New Jersey Kitchen to an elevated yet approachable design, tailored to everyday life.

From the moment we stepped into this kitchen, we knew it was ready for transformation. The space felt dated and closed off, and our client—drawn to a fresh, modern farmhouse aesthetic—was eager for a kitchen that felt clean, practical, and full of personality. As a family of four, durability and smart functionality were just as important as style.

We started by eliminating the ceiling fan, soffit, and octagonal window, immediately opening up the space for better light and flow. Storage was a key priority, so we reimagined the cabinetry layout to maximize function without sacrificing beauty. We introduced a calming, layered palette of sage green and warm grey, paired with black granite countertops that mimic the look of soapstone—offering both durability and subtle drama.

For the backsplash, we selected handmade cement tile from Clé tile, bringing in texture and craftsmanship. A bold, graphic porcelain tile on the floor added a playful counterpoint and grounded the palette in a contemporary direction.

To finish, we installed open floating shelving for display and ease, brass wall sconces for warmth, and jewel-like hexagonal hardware that feels both classic and unexpected. The result is a space that blends charm with function—an elevated yet approachable kitchen tailored to everyday life.
